The role of men in the family

The basic qualities that characterize male behavior have not changed much from past centuries. They, as before, remain strength of mind and strength of character, courage and responsibility, the ability to take on the solution of problems for themselves, protect their loved ones and ensure their well-being. A real man is one who knows how to make a decision, and takes full responsibility for it.
The male destiny in the framework of modern society is no longer the ability to earn money to support a family, or to have excellent physical fitness to be ready to defend the homeland. These qualities are undoubtedly very important in the formation of personality, but you should not limit yourself to them only.
The image of a man who should be “a little prettier than a monkey” is no longer relevant. Modern men are much more careful about their appearance. Nowadays, it is not shameful for males to do manicures, visit barbers and pick up a stylish wardrobe. Definitely, caring for your appearance is one of the components of the image of a modern man and a harmonious personality. After all, as A.P. Chekhov said: “Everything should be perfect in a person: face, clothes, soul, thoughts …”
In modern families, not always a man takes on the role of a getter. Guided by sound logic and discarding all age-old stereotypes, the family contains the spouse who is better at earning money, who is more successfully moving up the career ladder. Both professional and domestic duties are nowadays almost evenly distributed between men and women. Often there are marriages where the main earner in the family is a woman, and the man takes on the duties of a householder. Cooking, cleaning the house and raising children are not something humiliating, unworthy of an “real man”.
The image of a modern man is radically different from the male model of the past. But the qualities attributed to the stronger sex before, remained almost unchanged. To this list of abilities of the “true man” some points have been added to complement the modern masculine image.

The role of men in the family
From time immemorial, the man in the family has been assigned the role of the head of the family, and the woman – the guardian of the hearth. Almost all world theories and practices (esoteric, psychological, philosophical or religious teachings) take as a basis precisely this type of family where the husband dominates. Such a marital model is still the most common. The man, as the head of the family, has certain responsibilities. Consider them, based on the wisdom of the ancient Vedic teachings.

The role of men in the family
Material support for family members with everything necessary (according to the Vedas, the ideal option is to completely free the wife from work so that she has enough time to do housework)
Be a reliable support and protection for your loved ones
Spiritual leadership in the family should always remain with the man
The husband is obliged to take care and help the older and younger generations of his family and the family of the spouse
A man is always responsible for the internal family climate and relations between all relatives
The husband is entirely satisfied with the needs of the spouse – sensual, material and spiritual
The father should take part in the upbringing of children, showing by example his sons what a real man should be.
Men’s mission: the role of men in society
The long period of patriarchy in world history has not passed without a trace and its remnants have not yet completely exhausted themselves. Therefore, in politics, business and other equally important social spheres, the main roles still remain with men.

Women are considered to be more emotional and soft creatures, while in managerial social processes, on the contrary, strength of mind, endurance and a firm hand are required – qualities that, according to the generally accepted opinion, any real man should possess. Although officially women are not forbidden to try on the roles of politicians or to occupy leadership positions, but indirectly it still remains a male prerogative.

Conclusion
Based on the experience of past years, we can conclude that the male destiny remained the same as it was – to provide and protect their family. But do not forget that all people are individual, if such a model suits one, this does not mean that it is typical of all members of the stronger sex. Men’s destiny, as well as simply human destiny, consists in the realization of one’s abilities, one’s potential and achievement of harmony, first of all with oneself, with one’s inner “I”. And in what way the balance will be achieved – through building a successful career or creating a strong family – it does not matter whether the individual is a famous military leader or a householder – it is up to him to decide. The main thing is to choose the path that will ultimately lead a person to happiness.
